JC Music is proud to announce the addition of Jon Peckman to our Music Lesson Faculty!
Jon Peckman has been a professional drummer for 30 years and a teacher for 20. He can be seen performing all over New England and beyond with various regional acts. He is also a published author of the instructional book ‘Picture Yourself Drumming’. His encouraging coaching style is perfect for beginners as well as advanced players in any style with a focus on rock and song-oriented styles. He can also accompany you on bass guitar in your lessons so that you can experience the fun of making music with others right away.
And as long as we’re talking new teachers, have you met Chelsea Donovan?
Chelsea is a graduate of Hartwick College with a B.A. in Music, with a focus on performance and ethnomusicology (the study of music from around the world). She also holds a M.S. in Education from the University of New Haven. Chelsea teaches both classical violin as well as fiddle (rock, jazz, Celtic, Bluegrass, olde time, country, pop and improv). She has experience in teaching Suzuki to both younger (5-7 years) and older students as well as adults but uses a well-rounded approach to lessons.
Currently Chelsea plays with Halfway Sober, a Rock/Country/Fusion band and the Alehounds; an Irish band. She also volunteers with the Hamden Symphony Orchestra. In college Chelsea played with the Catskill Symphony Orchestra and was a founding member of the Hartwick String Quartet. Chelsea also arranged and performed music for the Hartwick College Rock Orchestra. She looks forward to any kinds of music her students might want to learn!
